Basic Manicure (essential skills) Diploma Course - £110

Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in beauty therapy or nail technician work – whether an existing practitioner or someone who wishes to start their career as a beauty therapist. Being able to perform a good manicure is vital for every therapist.  It is also a useful skill for anyone interested in maintaining their hands in optimum condition. The full day course is ideal for new therapist to obtain a full grounding in all techniques. This course is perfect as a refresher if you qualified some time ago or as a revision of your basic skills.
 
What do the courses include?
The Manicure course will teach you how to recognise disorders of the nails and hands. The course also covers cuticle work and will teach you the skill of working with cuticle nippers and a cuticle knife. Techniques to ensure the perfect application of varnish will be covered. Many basic courses do not include tuition in nail polish but this is essential, to any manicure treatment and this is included in our courses. You will also be taught how to buff the nails for clients who prefer a natural look. This course also covers the client consultation process, aftercare and product selection, plus information on Insurance, Data Protection and the relevant anatomy. The marketing and pricing of the treatment will also be discussed.
 
How long are the treatments and how much can I charge?

This advanced course covers the relevant anatomy and physiology to recap on therapists’ knowledge but the majority of the course is spent on practical work. Our comprehensive course also includes a wonderfully relaxing hand and arm massage. The course also includes the additional pampering treatments which make an ordinary manicure into a full Spa Treatment.  Various skills will be covered such as exfoliation and application of a masque, hot oil and paraffin wax, and the use of hot mittens. French Polishing (advanced polishing skills) Diploma Course - £95

Who is this course suitable for?
This is an idea course for Manicure and Pedicure therapists as well as Nail Technicians who wish to improve and perfect their polishing techniques.
It is also suitable for students who may struggle with the application of French Polish or who have never previously learned the technique. Possibly even for students who have qualified a long time ago, or have become a little rusty!
 
What does the course include?
This course also covers the most important and sought-after skill of French Polishing. This is a great additional skill which is extremely popular with clients. It is a skill that is often difficult to master and therapists often struggle to get the perfect "smile line" and sometimes resort to transfers which can be unreliable. This advanced course also covers the relevant anatomy and physiology to recap on therapists' knowledge but the majority of the half day course is spent on practical work.

The adaptation of French Polishing to paint the nail lunula, as well as the tip of the nail will also be covered. Students are also encouraged to use their own imaginations to create designs unique to themselves - by using unconventional colour combinations instead of the usual pink and white!

Students will work on nail forms during the course rather than on each other or models. This means that students can take their creations home with them and start up a reference portfolio for future work with clients. This course covers the client consultation process, aftercare and product selection, plus information on insurance, data protection and the relevant anatomy.

The course offers advice on how to improve on a basic polish by using a tried and tested method, with hints and tips for perfect polish application and for making your manicure or pedicure last as long as possible. Students are also shown step by step guidance on creating a variety of finishes using French Polishing techniques, which are often difficult to master. Techniques to work on the feet are discussed but not practiced on the course.
 
How long are the treatments and how much can I charge?
French Polishing is usually adds £10-£20 to the cost of a Manicure or Pedicure and adds around 15minutes to usual polishing time. Prices will of course depend on the area you practice and the treatments included.

Acrylic Overlays with Pre-formed and Sculptured Nail Extensions Diploma Course - £255

Who is this course suitable for?
This course is perfect for Manicure & Pedicurists who wish to become Nail Technicians and provide different types of extensions and overlays for their clients. This new course also covers the sculptured method of extensions which involves building up a nail tip on a foil form, instead of using a pre-formed nail tip. Many therapist find this quicker and cheaper than using pre-made tips. It also allow for amazing artistic shapes to be created! Great for competition work and the more adventurous client!
 
What does the course include?
The course covers the sculptured method of extension involves building up a nail tip on a foil form instead of using a pre-formed nail tip. This advanced course also includes a recap on therapists’ knowledge on anatomy, physiology, contra-indications and disorders of the nails, but the majority of the course is spent on practical work. The application of nail tips is covered, plus the application of UV curable acrylic and gel overlays.
