Basic Facial (essential skills) Diploma Course - £95

Who is the course suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in facial and beauty therapy – whether an existing practitioner or someone who wishes to start their career as a beauty therapist. Facials are an essential skill for any beauty therapist, and most skincare suppliers will require a diploma in facial treatments before they will supply you with their products. This is an excellent starter for our other beauty courses. The facial is the foundation of most basic beauty routines and one of the most popular treatments.

What does the course include?
On our half day, intensive course, you will learn how to provide a basic facials and to diagnose and treat different skin types and conditions. You will practice the important skills of cleansing, toning and moisturising and also learn how to give a deep facial clean. The application of face masks for different skin types is also included. This course also covers the client consultation process, aftercare and product selection, plus information on Insurance, Data Protection and the relevant anatomy. The facial treatment is covered in detail, together with the analysis of skin types - also an important element.

How long are the treatments and how much can I charge?
A facial treatment can last from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.  Prices can vary between £30 and £75 depending on the area you practice and the treatments included in your facials.

Do I need to purchase anything in advance and what equipment do I need to practice?
All the items you use on the course will be provided for you. Details of the products and equipment you need to practice will be covered in detail on the course. We advise you not to invest in anything before you come along.

What are the benefits to my clients?
Even though there are a large number of products available for home use, clients are often confused about what to use on their own skin, or prefer the pampering of visiting a professional beauty therapist. The facial treatment can be varied according to the client’s needs and can also be combined with other therapies, such the Eastern Facial Massage. Students are encouraged to attend the Spa Facial Treatments (advanced skills) Diploma Course which teaches additional skills to add to their facial treatments.
